Outreach Update
Dear PLT members,
Thank you for helping with the Pi Lambda Theta Outreach to the Children's Receiving Home in February. Without your generous support of money and books, we would not have exceeded our goal of 98 books (one for each child).
Thank you to Patricia Roberts, Katie Yarbrough, Gail La Fortune, and Susan Olsen for your very generous monetary donation which went a long way in purchasing books at the Scholastic Book Faire. Additionally, thank you Mary Lou Rossetto and Dana Rouse for personally dropping off your book donations... Jen Holmes, Kirstie Phillips, Toni Rainey, Kristin Yarbrough, and I made the trip to the Receiving Home and read to a handful of youth.
I am so pleased to announce that 314 books were collected and placed in the hands of children who have very little! The volunteer coordinator, Mike Sprague, thought the outreach was a great success.
Personal thanks go out to each member who helped in a variety of ways. A special thank you to Jen Holmes who helped with coordination of this outreach. I am excited to think of what we may be able to do next time as more members are inspired to help.
My sincere thanks and appreciation,
Jan Fagan
