02/17/07: Pi Lambda Theta Outreach Opportunity

When we give a child a book, we give an opportunity to change their world.

We hope that you had a wonderful holiday season with family and friends. As we come out of a busy season, we hope you will find time to help our group to give to those less fortunate and show generosity toward the children of Northern California. We all know how important reading and a love of books is to a child's future. It is time to put our thoughts into action.

Please join us Saturday, February 17th at 10am a tthe Children's Receiving Home of Sacramento: 3555 Auburn Blvd. Sacramento, CA 95821.

The Children's Receiving Home is the safety net for the area's abused and neglected children between the ages of 1 and 17. As the ONLY emergency shelter of its kind in Sacramento County, in effect; we act as the "front door" of the child protective system.

Our plan is to read to groups of children for an hour and then distribute these books to each child. That means our group needs to collect a minimum of 98 books (one per child).

We need your help!

Please begin collecfting books to distribute on our PLT outreach day. We would be VERY happy to bring them to CRH for you if you mail them to Jan by 02/03/2007 at: Jan Fagan 813 Spring Street; Placerville, CA 95667. Please email Jan Fagan to let her know you are interested in helping or are planning to attend: fagan4@internet49.com.
